Beauty + Skincare Haul

IMG_2579.JPG

Seeing as I forgot to post on Wednesday (I'm on vacay time *shrugs*), I thought I'd sneak in a lil special post today to make up for it!

Ever since I've arrived in Florida, which was only just under a week ago, I have visited Target twice. Twice. Let me repeat that for those who didn't hear. T W I C E. I'll also disclose that there is no Target under 30 mins away. So it's a trek. But it's worth it.

I love shopping in the U.S. as there are so many things here that we can't get in Canada (or things that are cheaper there than back home...) so it's like a totally different experience. I love poking around the beauty departments of different stores, checking out what sorts of things they've got in stock that we don't have back home or stuff that we just don't see a lot of. With that comes a lot of splurging, I'll be honest. So, from my over-excessive purchasing, I thought I'd do a bit of a haul post of the beauty and skincare items that I've picked up over the last few days!

IMG_2581.JPG

The first few things I purchased came from, you guessed it, Target. My beloved.

E.l.f. Cosmetics Contour Brush [x] - Having a little look around the e.l.f. display at Target, I found that they have a lot more brushes available in store than we typically get at my small town drugstore back home. So, I treated myself to this snazzy contour brush which was only $6 usd. I love me a good, inexpensive e.l.f. brush and this was just the sort of thing I needed.

E.l.f. Cosmetics Eyelash Curler [x] - This eyelash curler was only $2 usd!!!! Can you believe that? I knew that I needed a new eyelash curler and was dreading buying one because I didn't want to spend the $10 on one (I know, I can be weirdly frugal sometimes). But at just $2, there was no buyer's remorse here!

E.l.f. Cosmetics Eyebrow Kit in Medium [x] - Of course, I had to repurchase this fab eyebrow kit. I've talked about this over, and over again. I'd started to run out of this just before I arrived in Florida, so I definitely had to go pick this up. The kit costs $3 usd.

E.l.f. Cosmetics Kabuki Face Brush [x] - I've always wanted a kabuki brush, but had never come across one I liked and couldn't be bothered to order one online from e.l.f., so seeing this at Target made my day! I love how multi-purposeful this brush is, and also how compact it is as well. This brush cost $5.49 usd.

NYX Matte Bronzer in Medium [x] - I was in the market for a new bronzer, one of a darker shade, now that I'll be getting a tan (hopefully soon). This one is just lovely. It's a matte bronzer, which is perfect as shimmer would not look great mixed with sweat which is pretty inevitable in Florida. This bronzer set me back $6.29 usd.

Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold [x] - I picked this highlighter up sort of on a whim, after briefly hearing someone rave about it on Twitter. I've already used it and I actually LOVE it!! It's so vibrant and gorgeous. I feel like a sun goddess whenever I wear it hahaha. This bad boy cost $7.49 usd.

IMG_2580.JPG

The second, and last stop, I made for purchases was at Ulta Beauty, the American cosmetics shop.

Not Your Mother's She's A Tease Volumizing Hairspray [x] - I've already purchased this a few times before - as I'm sure you remember, I've raved about Not Your Mother's products time and time again. I was in desperate need of a hairspray after facing the horror of humidity once again, so I picked up this lovely hairspray which cost $7 usd.

Formula 10.0.6 Keep Your Cool Skin-Calming Gel Mask [x] - A few weeks ago, I saw a girl post her skincare routine on Twitter and she included a handful of Formula 10.0.6 products. Seeing how lovely her skin was, I definitely had to try this brand out! This was the first thing I picked up - a lovely coconut and cucumber gel mask. I looked at some of the peel-off masks, but frankly, they sort of scare me, lol. This mask cost $7 usd.

Formula 10.0.6 P.M. Perfector [x]The other Formula 10.0.6 item I picked up was the P.M. Perfector. I really wanted to find a new nighttime face cream, so I thought I'd try this one. It's got blackcurrant and licorice in it (??) which is kind of odd but I'm hoping it's not too bizarre of a scent! This nighttime cream set me back $9 usd.

And that's all for now! I'm very excited to try out all these lovely bits of skincare and beauty products, and I'm hoping they live up to my expectations!

What new products have you guys tried recently?

Summer Haircare Routine

IMG_2560.jpeg

Summer is a lovely season. It's the time for sun, and warmth, and having a good time. But because of all these things, it's also the time to be super careful about your hair. Although summer is great, it's no friend to your hair. There's humidity, sun, heat, and not to mention harsh pool chemicals. So in the past few summers, I've created a summer haircare routine that really works for my hair to make sure that there's no damage done to my hair!

Vibrant Sexy Hair Colour Lock Shampoo + Conditioner [x]I've been using this shampoo/conditioner set for a few months now and I absolutely love them both. The shampoo leaves my hair and scalp super clean, but doesn't strip the colour from my hair at all and even keeps my hair very moisturized. The shampoo and conditioner both have a very light rose-scent that's quite lovely and not too overpowering! I love how it makes my hair feel and how it protects my colour from the sun as well as other damage.

Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream [x]I have a huge problem with humidity during the summer - my hair goes crazy after about 5 seconds of being out in the humidity. And with spending so much time in Florida, it's even worse. But this coconut-scented cream is soo helpful. I just run a bit of this into my wet hair after showering, just before I blow-dry my hair, and it makes a world of difference. It keeps the frizz at bay, even on the most humid of days.

TIGI Bed Head Dumb Blonde Leave-In Conditioner [x]I've been using this bad boy for a very, very, very long time. Every couple washes I'll use this and it honestly is one of the best products for blonde-dyed hair. Like the Smooth Moves hair cream, I just put this into my hair when it's wet and let it do it's magic. I've had blonde highlights a few times over the years and using this product has really made the blonde less brassy and more vibrant, even. And I know I keep commenting on the smells of these products - but this one has the most incredible scent EVER.

TRESemmé Climate Control Hair Mousse [x]. I love this mousse so much. It's honestly my go-to hair product for summer humidity. It keeps your hairdo locked into shape and controls frizz without making your hair feel hard and helmet-like - I'm sure we've all been there before. Actually, this product protects your hair against more than just humidity - it also protects against UV rays (a MUST in summer), wind, and static, which is pretty cool honestly. For anyone with unruly, frizz-prone hair, this is an awesome product and I seriously recommend it.

So, those are my go-to haircare products! I pretty much use only these products throughout the summer, sometimes throwing in a couple others here and there, but this is basically it.

What products are in your summer haircare routine?

May Favourites

IMG_2423.jpeg

Hello everyone!

It's the end of May, which means that it's time for a monthly favourites wrap-up. I do love me a good favourites post, as it's so much fun to chat about what I've been loving this month and sharing it all with you guys! There's been a few things that I've really enjoyed lately, mostly music as this month was great for new music releases, but I've also got a couple beauty-related items in there for good measure!

Without further ado, let's get right to business.

TRESemmé Repair + Protect 7 Pre-Styling Spray [x] - I purchased this bad boy at my local drugstore at the beginning of the month on sale for like 2 bucks. What a deal, considering this product is actually pretty awesome! I love it because a) it's a heat protectant for when I use heat tools on my hair which is a must, and b) it makes my hair feel great afterwards! I'm seriously loving it.

Choetech Qi Certified T511 Wireless Charger Pad [x] - I've always wanted one of these wireless chargers, ever since I bought the iPhone 8+ last year, but I always assumed they were all super expensive. That is, until my bf bought an 8+ earlier this month and found this charger on Amazon. It's so cool!! All you've got to do is plug the usb into the pad and into a charger brick, then place your iPhone on it. It works with any iPhone 8/8+/X with a small case. And it was only $20!!

E.l.f. Cosmetics "Everyday Smoky" Palette [x] - Last month, I mentioned that I'd been loving the e.l.f. Cosmetics "Mad for Matte" palette, but this month I've found myself reaching more for the Everyday Smoky version. Although I haven't had a reason to go full-on smoky this month, I've been using the darker brown shades from this palette as well as the lighter shimmer shades to create everyday brown smoky looks, and I just love how it's been turning out! This palette is so easy to use and the shadows are very blendable.

Little House on the Prairie [x] - If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, I’m sure you’ve probably noticed that I’m pretty obsessed with the tv show Little House on the Prairie. I was a huge fan when I was a kid and my mum recently gifted me the entire series on iTunes, so I’ve been watching it religiously over the past month. Watching it back is giving me major nostalgic feelings about my childhood and making me remember how I used to sit in my basement with my grandma watching it for hours on end. Obviously a lot of it is historically inaccurate and the show itself is pretty outdated, but it’s definitely a fun show to watch nonetheless!

John Mayer, “New Light” - New John mayer music... YESSSS. I so wasn’t expecting him to release new music this month and it was a very happy surprise to have this pop up onto Spotify. This song is very different from his usual stuff, more disco-y honestly, but I’m definitely into it. Also, do yourself a favour and check out his music video for this song. You won’t be disappointed.

Florence + the Machine, “Hunger” - I’ve been into Florence + the Machine since I was in high school and every time she releases a new song, I’m never disappointed. Hunger is such a powerful and amazing song, especially with Florence Welsh’s voice. I love turning this up whilst I’m driving around town!!

Shawn Mendes’s new album - In case you hadn’t heard, Shawn Mendes recently dropped his third studio album this month on the 25th. And - as expected - it’s pure gold. I love his new mature sound and think that he really outdid himself on this album. It’s incredible to think that a boy from Pickering who just played guitar on Vine could come so far! Some of my fav songs off this album are “Nervous”, “Lost in Japan”, “Where Were You in the Morning?” and “Fallin’ All In You”.

Well, that’s all for May! What have you guys been loving this past month?

What to Consider Before Getting Bangs

IMG_2345.jpg

Hello, everybody!

Today, I thought I would do a little post talking about bangs - what to take into account if you're considering getting them for yourself, and if they're worth it in the long run! I've had my bangs now for some time, about a year and a half, so I'd say I've got a pretty good idea of what it's like to live with them!

Why I got bangs...

I had bangs for most of my life growing up. I had them all up to grade three when I finally decided to grow them out. I mulled over the pros and cons of cutting my bangs for what seemed like ages before I actually did it. I started playing with the idea back in 2014 but didn't actually do it until the end of 2016. There were a few concerns I had going into it, particularly that the bangs would be ridiculous on my very short forehead but I ended up getting them for two main reasons: 1) I wanted to do something different to my appearance going into uni, and 2) I have a lot of baby hairs that I hate so getting bangs would hide that, haha.

But, of course, there are a lot of different things I didn't actually expect going into it, that I wish I'd have known before I got my bangs...

You will have to get them trimmed often

This is probably the most crucial thing to having a polish bang look, but it's also something that you really should be aware of before getting bangs. If you're not willing to or don't have the time for getting regular bang trims, then you may want to reconsider. Hair grows fast, and bangs grow even faster (okay so maybe that's not a fact, but I swear it seems like it). At least every 3 or 4 weeks, you'll probably find yourself at the salon, especially if you have a small forehead like moi. You can always cut your own bangs at home, with the proper hair-cutting scissors which you can pick up at your local Ulta. But luckily, bang trims only cost $5 at most salons.

It's a serious commitment

Bangs do not grow out nicely or easily. They are very uncooperative. Take this from someone who spent the entire third grade with a dozen bobby pins creating ridges in her skull. Once you cut those bangs in the front of your face, that's the way they want to grow, and they are not easily persuaded. So growing them out and pushing them to the side of your face is no easy feat. So, it probably wouldn't be worth it to get bangs if you only want them for a little while. I mean, look at Zooey Deschanel. She's had those bad boys for like two decades.

Even if your skin is clear now, you'll probably break out anyway

This was something I'd heard many warnings about prior to cutting my hair and I wish I'd taken them more seriously. If you, like me, are reading this and thinking, "I don't typically break out/I have very manageable skin, so it won't be any problem", don't be fooled. Having hair plastered to your forehead 24/7, especially in the humid summer months, is acne's bff. Your forehead will probably break out in little bumps. Of course, there are ways to manage the breakouts and even prevent them sometimes, but it's definitely annoying.

Air-drying is essentially impossible

If you're a fan of air-drying your hair or if you use heatless tools/methods to style your hair, bangs might not be for you. Letting your bangs air-dry is a hot mess. They will end up sitting wonky on your head, drying in whichever direction they please, and do not even get me started on if you have curly hair (like me). And in the end, bangs look best when they've been straightened at least a smidge - it just helps them sit nicely. So if you're not into using heat, or if you just can't be bothered to blow dry and straighten your hair after every wash (first of all, I feel you girl), then you probably should steer away from the #banglife!

They get greasy FAST

No one can prepare you for how quickly your bangs get greasy. It's unreal. Sometimes I feel like in the morning, they're fresh and beautiful, but by mid-day, I look like I haven't showered in a week. This is especially worse if you have a habit of playing with your bangs, which is what I've unfortunately taken to in the past year. Either you have to wash your hair way more often or you wash your bangs in the sink. You gotta do whatcha gotta go.

So, are they worth it?

Obviously, this isn't a one-size-fits-all sort of thing at all. If you've read all of these things and think that it sounds like your own personal hell, then I'd strongly urge against it. These bad boys are super high maintenance and once you make the chop, there's no going back. Well, at least, not for some time. Ultimately, if you're looking for a cute, classic hairstyle and you're up for trying something risky, then I'd definitely recommend getting bangs! One thing I'd recommend though is asking your stylist what she thinks, as she'll know what suits your face shape and such. But in the end, hair is hair. It will grow back, so why not switch it up a little?

Do you have bangs? What do you think of them?

Empties

img_2040.jpeg

How is it that I've been writing for this blog for this long and yet I've never made an empties post?? I love reading empties posts by other bloggers. Mostly because I'm nosy af. But hey, who isn't! It's always cool to see what products other bloggers have been using and what they thought of it after using it the whole way through. Soooo today I'm going to do a post of my own!

NEUTROGENA NIGHT CALMING MAKEUP REMOVER CLEANSING TOWELETTES - I've been using Neutrogena's makeup remover wipes for a while now, but this was my first time purchasing the 'night calming' ones. I actually liked them better than the original ones!! They have a really lovely scent, which is supposed to help you sleep but it's debatable whether or not it actually works, haha. Neutrogena is by far my fav brand when it comes to makeup removing wipes as they're really gentle on sensitive skin but clean off makeup really thoroughly. I'll def be buying these again!!

MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN INSTANT PORE ERASER PRIMER - I picked this up on a whim a while back and ended up actually really liking it! It's not something I'd use for heavy duty makeup or if I was trying to make my makeup last for several hours. But for casual, day-to-day use, I think it works pretty well! It definitely made my skin feel really soft and smooth, so that was cool. And the bottle looks so tiny, but it holds a shocking amount of product in there. I kept thinking that it was nearly empty but it held up for a while yet.

MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL MASCARA - My go-to mascara!! I just picked up a replacement for this bad boy, as I simply cannot be without it. I've been using this for a long time and I talked about it recently in my Holy Grail Beauty Products post (x). I just love it. I'll probably be repurchasing this over and over again for the foreseeable future.

GARNIER MICELLAR WATER FOR OILY SKIN - This has been sitting near-empty in my makeup drawer for wayyyy too long. So it's time to part ways with this. I was really into the Micellar water trend for a while, particularly during the spring and summer seasons of last year. But I don't know, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. I'm over it. Won't be repurchasing this again. Neutrogena wipes have my heart, sorry micellar water!!

What products have you used up entirely?

April Favourites

img_1971.jpeg

Happy May, everyone! I'm sure all of you have heard/seen the "It's Gonna Be May" meme a thousand times in the past few days so I'll spare you guys from having to hear it again. But do know that I'm definitely thinking it right now, haha.

I'm back with another favourites post for you guys!! I've been on a bit of a "no spend" trend this month as I dropped a small fortune on dresses other things the past couple months and now I'm broke af. Soo these are all products that I've already owned for a while, but they have found their way into my regular rotation as of late!

MARC JACOBS HONEY PERFUME - I love this perfume so so so much. I bought this last year while I was in NYC and have been utterly obsessed ever since. But with spring officially arriving this month, I've been getting a lot of use out of this pretty scent. It's described online as being a mix of "nectars of honeysuckle and peach, honey, vanilla, and smooth woods" - it's so lovely.

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM IN "SAN PAULO" AND "ANTWERP" - These two have been the lipsticks I've reached for most this past month, as I've been loving bright, bold shades for this weather. San Paulo is described as a "plummy pink" whereas Antwerp is a "mid-tone yellow-toned pink"...which is pretty much just a bright pink. They're fairly long-lasting and not at all drying on the lips which makes them the perfect lightweight lippy for a nice spring day!

E.L.F. COSMETICS MAD FOR MATTE EYESHADOW PALETTE - I talked a bit about how much I've been loving this palette in my Spring Makeup Look post (x). This is by far my most used palette of April, followed closely behind by the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. I feel like burnt orange and brown shades really go with brown eyes - am I crazy, haha?? Anyway, it's been getting a hell of a lot of use lately and I'm sure that'll probably be the case next month as well!!

E.L.F. COSMETICS MAKEUP BRUSHES - I've been really loving E.l.f. brushes this month! They're honestly great brushes, especially for how inexpensive and easily accessible they are. At least 9 times outta 10, when I pop into my local drugstore, I walk out with a new E.l.f. makeup brush haha. Some of my favourites are the Blending Brush, the Blush Brush, the Highlighting Brush, and the Eyeshadow "C" Brush.

What products have you guys been loving this month?! x

Spring Makeup Look

img_1868.jpeg

Hello lovelies!! Things have been crazy lately, which is why I haven't been posting so much. I know that I'm constantly saying "I'm so busy, pls forgive me!!" but honestly, I have been. It's all about finding that balance between life and blogging, y'know?

Spring has been coming around here, slowly but surely. Last week, we were having some lovely weather, like 14C-18C, which is great for spring here. But next week we're apparently set to have some really nice weather, more like 20C to even 26C, which is veryy exciting! I'm hoping to maybe shoot and post a spring lookbook sort of post sometime next week (weather permitting - fingers crossed!), so look out for that!! :)

For now, I thought I'd write up a post talking about my typical spring makeup look.

Jumping right in. I always start off with my eyebrows for some reason haha. I've been using the E.l.f. Cosmetics Eyebrow Kit for about a year now and I'm obsessed. I totally ignore the powder side (lol) and instead use the cream to just fill in the sparse bits of my brows with an angled brush, then I run a spoolie brush through them to disperse the product. The cream is really long-lasting and stays in place, whereas other cream brow products tend to shift on your face which is a no-no.

Next up, I prime my face. I much prefer cream-based primers as opposed to sprays. One of my fav cream primers is the Maybelline FaceStudio Master Prime Blur + Illuminate Face Primer (phew, whatta mouthful). Before I apply any face makeup, I just apply this to my entire face, rubbing it all in until it's absorbed. This one, in particular, makes for a really dewy makeup look, which I love for the spring and summer seasons.

Moving on from face, for now, I move onto eye products. I've been really loving the E.l.f. Cosmetics Mad For Matte Eyeshadow Palette (which is now being called the "Mad for Matte Nude Bloom" palette). I love the warm tones of this palette, especially the burnt-orange shade and the pink-y sort of shades. I take that burnt-orange and blend it into my crease, then blend a bit of the dark brown into the outer v. I finish it all off with that pink shade on my lid. Once I've finished with the shadows, I go for a thin cat-eye with my Revlon Colorstay Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. I used to do cat-eye looks all the time in high school, but stopped for awhile, and now I'm back doing it again I guess! Haha.

While I let my liner dry a bit, I go onto my face. I've been using the Rimmel London 25hr Breathable Foundation for the past couple months, which I reviewed here. I blend that all over my face with a blending sponge - I use the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - and then I cover up all my spots and such with the Maybelline New York Better Skin Concealer. Once I've finished up with all that, I go in with a bit of bronzer and blush - for bronzer, lately I've been getting a lot of use out of my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer which I've had for ages, and for blush, I use my fav E.l.f. Cosmetics Candid Coral Blush which I'm sure I've talked about before. After, I brush on some Too Faced Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder so soften the harshness of my blush and bronzer. And I pop on some E.l.f. Cosmetics Shimmer in Gold on my cheekbones and Cupid's bow.

Going back to my eyes, I like to brush a bit of that orange-y shade from before just under my eyes, with a thin angled brush just to add some depth to the look. Then I go in with an eyelash curler and finish up with a coat of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara.

And that's it! Here's the final look...

fullsizerender.jpeg

(Don't mind my bangs as they seriously need to be trimmed, haha) So there ya have it. Very simple to do, doesn't take very long at all, and it's a bright look for spring!

Happy last day of April y'all!

5 Holy Grail Beauty Products

fullsizerender-1.jpeg

Hello everybody! Today, I thought I'd talk about five of my holy grail beauty products, mostly from drugstore brands. I've been using these products consistently for a very long time, some for a couple years now, and they have never failed me. These are pretty much my all-time favourite products, ones that I use pretty much on a daily basis!

Let's just jump right in then, shall we?

MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL MASCARA

I've heard many a beauty blogger rave about this bad boy and about a year ago, I decided to give it a shot. At first, I found it quite clumpy and heavy on the lashes, but I find it just takes some getting used to. If you apply it with a light hand, you should easily be able to get a clump-free look! I love this mascara in particular because it separates my lashes (again, light handedness necessary!!) and really darkens them. Personally, length isn't an issue for me as I have very long natural eyelashes, but I've found this makes them appear even longer.

MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY BETTER SKIN CONCEALER

I've been a die-hard fan of the Better Skin concealer for some time now. I think it's a lovely, lightweight concealer for brightening and also covering up blemishes, without being too harsh and heavy on the skin. What I love best about it, however, is that it's considered safe for sensitive eyes and skin, both of which I have and dealing with them is a nightmare. I've def had far less of an issue with irritated eyes or skin whilst using this!

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS GLOW KIT

This one is an oldie, but a goodie!! I actually first purchased this original ABH Glow Kit in my senior year of high school, as a bit of a post-exam treat for myself, and I immediately fell in love. I know it was sorta hyped up back when it came out, but it is a lovely product nonetheless. I love the shades in this kit, as they are more gold/pink, which is more up my alley than the white or metallic shades of other palettes. My personal fav is "Dripping in Gold" which I've sadly recently hit pan on :(

COLOURPOP ULTRA SATIN LIP

I love ColourPop. They're by far one of my favourite inexpensive makeup brands of all-time. And $6 is a small price to pay for their incredible liquid lippies. The formula of their Ultra Satin Lip is really quite nice. Personally, I don't find it very drying on the lips, and it's definitely long-lasting. Not to mention the shades are absolutely beautiful!!! I find that they have so many options, which makes this range so versatile.

MAYBELLINE FACESTUDIO MASTER PRIME FACE PRIMER BLUR + ILLUMINATE

This doubles as a highlighting product and a primer, which is pretty cool. If I want just a pop of highlight, I'll just blend in a spot of this on my cheekbones and on my brow bone. But if I want a really dewy overall look, I'll use this as a primer and apply it all over my face, before putting on my foundation. I think it gives the perfect amount of glow for a spring or summer makeup look, so I use this a lot during the summer season!

What are your favourite/holy grail products?

March Favourites

img_1730.jpg

Hello everybody, and happy beginning of April!! Despite the fact that it's officially been spring for a while now, we're having the most horrid day out today, with blistering wind and snow - I repeat, SNOW... in April. Will the weather ever warm up??!! On a brighter note, I've got a handful of wonderful products to share with you that I was loving throughout March. I'll cut the rambling now, and jump right into it!

TOO FACED SWEET PEACH PALETTE

An oldie, but def a goodie. This past month, I've been really into pink and orange eye looks, so I've been reaching for this bad boy a lot. The shades in this palette are downright fab and so versatile. I've been able to create a bunch of different eye looks, using just this palette, for the past week or so without repeating any! So, I obvs had to give this a mention and perhaps inspire you guys to dig this one out of the bottom of your collection and show it some luv!!

E.L.F COSMETICS "CANDID CORAL" BLUSH

Continuing on with the pink and orange trend... I've been using this blush a LOT recently. It's a beautiful coral shade, which I imagine would be so gorgeous with a tan (if the sun ever does emerge!!). It really compliments my skin tone and I can imagine it would on really anyone's, for that matter. It's so simple and shimmery and beautiful.

EOS ORGANIC VANILLA BEAN LIP BALM

Recently, on a trip out to Costco, I picked up a mega pack of EOS lip balms as my lips have been feeling quite dry and sad lately. I love the scent of vanilla and so it's no surprise at all that this one was my favourite. I've kept this at my bedside this past month, so I can swipe on a coat before bed and it's been really doing wonders for improving my lip dryness!

ESSIE "PEACH SIDE BABE" NAIL POLISH

I recently picked up this gorg shade of Essie nail polish and I'm in love. This peachy, pink is the perf shade for spring. Essie is one of my fav brands of nail polish, second only to OPI. I can't wait to wear this throughout the spring and summer seasons!!

LOVE, SIMON

This month, I went out with my boyfriend on a date to see Love, Simon in theatres. I'm sure almost all of you have heard about this film, but if not, here's the gist - it's a teen rom-com about a boy named Simon who's hiding from everyone that he's gay, but he's secretly anonymously e-mailing another boy in school who's gay. Last month, I reviewed the book this was based on, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, for my blog and I seriously loved it. And honestly, the movie was soo good!! It was a really great adaptation and I'm so happy it exists bc LGBT representation in films is so rare, and this is a great step forward! It was adorable, and sweet, and charming, and funny, and heart-wrenching. Seriously GO SEE THIS MOVIE! :)

What products were you loving in March?

5 Lipsticks for Springtime

Springtime is officially here!! I cannot express how excited I am for warm weather, the blooming flowers, and finally being able to wash my car - priorities y'all. Although spring isn't my #1 favourite season, it is up there. I love that everything starts to thaw and come back to life. But, most importantly, I love the chance to lighten up my makeup. Throughout the winter, I tend to wear darker eyeshadows and lipsticks. But spring is when all the pinks come out to play.

So, today I thought I'd share some of my fav spring lippy shades!

img_1670.jpg

REVLON ULTRA HD MATTE LIPCOLOUR - "SEDUCTION"

The first lipstick is one of my top shades ever. This was actually the lipstick that I wore to my senior prom a couple years ago and I loved wearing it. It's a very subtle, natural shade and it lasted the entire night, through a meal, drinks, and dancing, with only having to reapply once. For a matte liquid lipstick, it doesn't dry out your lips which makes it easier to reapply as you won't have chapped lips to bother with. As a bonus, it has a lovely fruit punch scent - although, after reading reviews, I've learned that half of the people loved it and half hated it, so that's something to be cautious of!!

Ulta, $9.99

RIMMEL LONDON LASTING FINISH BY KATE MOSS - "45"

Do you guys remember when these Kate Moss lippies first came out?? They were sooo popular. And I was hella obsessed haha. One of the ones that I've continued to regularly reach for over time is the shade 45. It's from the Nude collection and it's quite honestly a perfect pink-nude. It's a lovely cream formula, very long-lasting too. I love me a natural pink lip shade and this certainly delivers!

Walmart, $5.98

TOPSHOP LIPS - "MINK"

I may have mentioned before (maybe?? who knows) that I love the Topshop lipstick line. It's not something I've come by easily - the first one I bought was in London and the second in NYC - but whenever I get the chance, I take the opportunity to buy a new shade. In NYC, I picked up the shade "Mink". This is a lighter shade compared to the two I just mentioned, but very lovely all the same. The only problem is that this shade doesn't appear to be available online anymore... However, the shade "Coven" appears to be a very close match, so I've linked that below!

Topshop, $15

L'OREAL INFALLIBLE MEGA GLOSS - "GIRL ON TOP"

This is more of a lip gloss than a lipstick, and though I don't typically like lip glosses, this one isn't particularly sticky so it's all good. I love the baby pink shade of it and that it's quite sheer. I think it's a very girly colour, which would go really well with a flowy skirt or dressing for going out on a lovely spring night (can you tell I'm eager for warm weather?? lol). The only issue is that it's not very long-lasting or transfer-proof, so it requires a lot of reapplications.

L'OREAL PARIS COLOUR RICHE SERUM - "BEAMY PLUM"

Overall, I love the L'Oreal Colour Riche line. I have a couple of shades, but "Beamy Plum" is for sure one of my favourites. It's a very balmy, hydrating formula in a mauve pink. It kinda gives you that bare lip look without having a bare lip - which, idk about you, but I love it. It's really long-lasting and personally, it compliments my skin haha. Although this shade doesn't appear to be available anymore, I would def recommend basically any shade from this range.

Hope your first day of spring was lovely!

February Favourites

img_1504-1.jpg

Another month, another bunch of favourite products to share with you guys!! I'm v excited to share these with you guys, as I've had a pretty successful month in terms of trying out new products. The first product I've been loving in February is the Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo. Good gracious, that's a mouthful. I've owned this dry shampoo before, but not since they updated it and added on the "tapioca". They also changed the scent, which is pretty cool because although I did like the original scent, I am seriously obsessed with the new Warm Sugar scent. This dry shampoo leaves no white residue and does such a great job at freshening up second-day hair.

Another hair care product I've been unable to live without recently is the Vibrant Sexy Hair Colour Lock Trio. This includes the Vibrant Sexy Hair Colour Lock Shampoo, Vibrant Sexy Hair Colour Lock Conditioner, and Vibrant Sexy Hair Colour Guard Post Colour Sealer. These three in-shower products are meant to be used together to keep your colour-treated hair stay looking fresh out of the salon for as long as possible. They're all SLS and SLES free, which is really important, and they smell pretty amazing. Since I've started using these, I've actually noticed a difference in both the vibrancy and the overall quality of my hair!!

I know I only picked this up quite recently, but I have fallen head over heels in love with the Lush Eau Roma Water toner that I featured in my haul post. I've been using this twice daily since I bought it, in the morning and before I head to bed, and I swear it's already made a visible difference to my skin! My skin has already been getting close to clearing up (thank Jesus) but this has only sped up the process even more. It's very gentle on the skin and quite refreshing. Two thumbs up on this one.

Moving onto non-beauty related products... I've recently been taking steps to become more mindful and positive, to help with my anxiety, and something that's really been helping me with that is the 52 Lists for Happiness by Moorea Seal. This is a sort of guided journal where you follow weekly prompts for list-making which help to bring balance into your life. I've only been using it now a few weeks, but I'm loving it so far! Not only is it super helpful, but the journal itself is beautiful with its hardcover bounding, and gorgeous photos and illustrations on every page.

Definitely a more random favourite of mine lately has been Milk Chocolate Covered Raisins. These were the candies I always reached for at the movie theatre when I was a kid. Recently, I got such a craving for these bad boys, so my mum picked them out for me one day while she was out and I've since been in heaven.

Last, but certainly not least, is the beloved Disney film, Lady and the Tramp. This was one of my all-time favourite films as a kid because it's a film about DOGS. How can you not love it? Lady is just the sweetest little thing ever. Disney recently released this from the vault and I picked it up on it's release day. I went all the way out to the mall - which is 30 mins away - then all the way to Walmart - which is another 20 mins away from the mall - where I finally found it!! Thank god. Haha

What products have you guys been loving lately?

Winter Skincare Routine

img_1435.jpg

Winter is a total bitch for your skin, eh?? It's only mid-February and I'm so ready for winter to be over. I don't care what Punxsutawney Phil says - this week, it's gonna be double digits in southern Ontario and I'm taking that as a sign of early spring. Unfortunately, that's more than likely a blip and I'm sure we'll be back to the regularly scheduled winter mayhem any day now. With that in mind, I thought I'd share my Canadian winter-proof skincare routine to help you guys get through this terrible cold.

STEP 1: CLEANSER

I've been recently using the Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser which I discovered in Florida and have since fallen into a serious love affair with. I'm not even exaggerating when I say that it made MAJOR improvements to the overall quality of my skin in like three days. After even one use, my skin is glowing. It's hella good.

STEP 2: TONER

Lately, I've been getting good use out of the Olay Oil Minimizing Clean Toner. I've had issues before with toners being too harsh and doing damage to my ever-so-sensitive skin, but this one is really gentle and doesn't cause any irritation in the slightest. What I really like about it is that it has witch hazel in it, which is a great remedy for acne. I just put a bit of this on a cotton pad and swipe it all over my face after cleansing.

STEP 3: MOISTURIZER

For moisturizer, I've been using the Nivea Nourishing Day Cream during these cold winter months. It's very hydrating and as it's pretty thick in consistency, it's much better to use in the winter as opposed to the summer when you need your skin to be able to breathe in the heat. It has really done battle with the dryness that I usually struggle with during the winter and for that, I've been extremely grateful!!!

EXTRA STEP: FACE MASK

Using a face mask in the winter is crucial. It gets all the dead dry skin out of your skin so that it's not clogging up your pores, and also really refreshes your skin. I've personally been loving the Origins Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask to Rescue Problem Skin, which I received as a gift this Christmas. I have never come across a face mask so nourishing and cleansing before. Use this a couple times a week during the winter and you'll def see your skin looking amazing in no time!

Here's hoping for a very early spring!

January Favourites

img_1188.jpg

It's the end of January which means another monthly favourites post!!! I love writing these sorts of posts. I think it would be lovely if my favourites posts could introduce any of you to a new product or music or tv show or whatever. That'd be wonderful :) Well, anyway, here we go with my January favs!!

TOO FACED PEACH BLUR TRANSLUCENT SMOOTHING FINISHING POWDER

I really have been loving the Peach Blur lately. Different from a setting powder - which obvs sets your makeup - finishing powder smooths out your makeup to make it look more evened out. I usually use it when I'm going for a no-makeup makeup look as it makes my skin look fresh and bright.

NOT YOUR MOTHER'S SMOOTH MOVES FRIZZ CONTROL

This one was crucial for me when I was in Florida at the beginning of the month. Honestly, it was a lifesaver. I just squeeze a toonie-sized amount into my palm and work it into my hair when it's wet. It does wonders for frizziness. I find that my hair dries more evenly, and it's much easier to just blow-dry it and go.

NIVEA NOURISHING DAY CREAM

I have recently switched to my winter skincare routine, and with that comes the need for a different moisturizer. Previously, I was using the Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer. It was doing exactly what I wanted it to. But, the salicylic acid in the moisturizer mixed with the cold air was drying out my skin, so I thought I'd go with something a bit more heavy duty. This day cream has so far been really doing the trick!

TARTE LIMITED-EDITION BLUSH BAZAAR PALETTE

This was actually a Christmas gift from my parents. In the past month, I've been getting a lot of use out of it and I really like it. As it has 10 different shades - some dark, some light, some shimmery, some matte. I love the selection and how simple the blushes are to apply. It's the perfect thing to bring on holiday, as it's easily transportable and it gives me a lot of options. I love 'Angelic' and 'Authentic' the most.

INDIGO MAGNETIC BOOKMARKS

Up until very recently, I have been using the receipt of my book purchase as the bookmark for whatever book I'm reading. So, when I went out to buy the books from my January reading list, my mum insisted that I finally bought myself a bookmark. I ended up finding a pack of magnetic bookmarks with really cute designs and sayings on them. They're really cool - you just clamp the magnetic around the page that you're currently reading and it sticks there without leaving a dent or falling out at all. I'm a huge fan so far and would definitely recommend picking these up if you're an on-the-go reader like I am!

That's a wrap on January! What have you guys been loving this month?

November Favourites

img_0457.jpg

Hello everybody! As it we are now in the first official week of December, I've got a November favourites post for you all today.

The very first thing that I've been loving this month, which is a very new addition to my beauty product collection, is the L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Extraordinary Clay Shampoo. I've been loving this shampoo. In the winter time, my scalp gets very dried out, which gets only worse with product use. I've been on the hunt lately for scalp-friendly shampoos and came across this in the shop the other day. The idea here is that this shampoo deep-cleanses your roots so that your scalp doesn't get oily which as a result stops you from overwashing which dries out your hair. I did find that this shampoo kept its promises for me and my scalp definitely felt cleaner post-use than it did after using other shampoos. I'd also like to mention that this is the first shampoo that left my hair tangle-free post-wash, which I love.

I recently picked up the Essie "With the Band" Nail Polish at my local drugstore. I love a classic red nail but I wanted something that strayed a bit from the typical bright red shade I use. Which is exactly what "With the Band" is. It's hard for me to describe the shade exactly so I looked at the site and they describe it as a toasted spice burgundy, which I believe is the best description of it. I love this colour so so much. It's beautiful and personally, I think it compliments my skin tone nicely. The one thing I will say, which I find with all Essie nail polishes, is that it requires a top coat in order to keep it from chipping off. It does chip quite easily, so you'd need to be cautious of that.

The next item is one I mentioned in a Friday Thoughts post awhile back: the e.l.f. Aqua Beauty Molten Liquid Eyeshadow in "Rose Gold". I was kinda skeptical at first at how well this product would work but I was genuinely so amazed. It feels very strange to apply, as it's essentially a lip gloss tube and applicator that you put on your eyes.... But the result is lovely. It's a very shimmery, beautiful pinky shade. I find it looks particularly nice as a final touch to a pink/berry eye look. I look forward to experimenting more with this bad boy and seeing what other looks I can create with it.

It's kind of odd that I haven't mentioned this product already before, as I've been using it for a couple months now and I've even had to repurchase it already. It's the Maybelline New York Better Skin Concealer. I've had a few bad experiences with cakey concealers prior to this one (I'm shuddering just thinking about them haha) so when I came across this one and tried it out, I was so relieved. It does an incredible job of hiding undereye circles, as well as masking the horrid acne scarring I've been trying to hide for a while now. It's very easy to blend and it doesn't come off looking very pale or cakey.

I know I've already mentioned this product in a post this month and I'm sure I'll mention it again after this, but I just had to include the Lush Sleepy Lotion in my favourites post. I know this is known to be a hit-or-miss product, but it was a definite hit for me. I have horrible re-occurring insomnia, especially lately - I'm talking staying up until three, four, even five o'clock in the morning because I can't sleep. I've tried a bunch of different things including Melatonin, different pillows, darker room, reading before bed, etc. Some have worked better than others, but this lotion has made a major improvement to the dilemma. On top of its magical sleep-inducing qualities, it has a lovely yet subtle scent and it is very hydrating on the skin which is an added bonus especially for the winter months upon us.

Another product I've mentioned recently that was worth re-mentioning is the Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Room Spray. As you may or may not know, I do suffer from anxiety and that majorly impacts a lot of areas of my life but specifically my sleeping patterns. I've found that spritzing this spray in my room, above my bed where I'll definitely catch a whiff of it, has really helped my anxiety lately. It calms me down enough that I can actually have a chance at falling asleep (this is the part where the Sleepy lotion takes over!). At first, I was a bit iffy on the eucalyptus and spearmint scent, but I've actually come to really like it. I also have a candle of the same brand and scent that I love just as much as this spray.

Steering away from beauty-related favourites, the last thing I've been loving this month is the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack. 500 Days of Summer has one of my favourite soundtracks of all time. It has songs by Hall and Oates, The Smiths, Simon and Garfunkel.... all some of my favourite bands. There's not one song on the soundtrack that I don't enjoy. I've been listening to it often this month and I've been loving it so much that I actually purchased it on vinyl this week! I cannot wait to receive the record in the mail :) My favourite song off the album has probably got to be "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths because it's one of my all-time favourite songs.

What have you guys been loving this month?

Treat Yo' Self

fullsizerender.jpeg

Hello everybody and welcome back! As you may have noticed, I have been MIA all week. I'm so sorry for my absence, I've been fighting off a cold all week and with that plus everyday life plus planning for our Christmas party tonight... I didn't have much time - or energy, for that matter - to post on my regular schedule. But I'm back, and I've got a special pampering post for you all today! Doesn't everyone love a good night in? I know I do. There's nothing better to prepare you for a week, or to relax you after a stressful one, than a rejuvenating evening of doing nothing but unwinding and overindulging. If you're looking to plan a pampering evening of your own sometime soon, here are some of my favourite things to do to inspire you!

A CUP OF HOT COCOA

First and foremost, I always love indulging in a cup of steaming hot cocoa whenever I need a little pick-me-up. Recently I have been loving Coffee Crisp-flavoured hot cocoa, which is absolutely to die for. I usually make my hot cocoa with milk and mini marshmallows on top, and I always put it in a super cute mug.

HAVE A SOAK IN A BATH

I used to be super opposed to the idea of bathing. I was pretty vocal about my dislike until I discovered Lush bath bombs. Now I've started having baths, I'll never look back. Though I do still prefer showering over bathing, I do enjoy a bath every now and then for a pampering evening. Bath bombs are so lovely. I love watching them melt and spin in the water, turning the colour pretty colours. The scent is phenomenal. And they make my skin feel ever-so-soft. Ones I love are Sex Bomb, Twilightand Butterball

FACE MASK

Once I've hopped out of the bath and put on a pair of comfy pyjamas, I immediately wash my face. It makes me feel so clean and refreshed. Once I've washed my face, I love to put a face mask on. My favourite face mask of all time is the L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Cleansing MaskIt makes my skin glow, honestly. I love how my skin feels and looks afterwards. Long-term, I have noticed major improvements after using this mask and so it is perfect for my pampering evening.

PAINTING MY NAILS

I think we can all agree that no girly pampering evening is complete without painting your nails - am I right?? I love painting my nails. Looking down and seeing freshly painted nails, as opposed to crap chipped nail polish, is soo lovely. I feel more put together when I've got my nails done. My favourite nail polishes at the moment are the Essie "With the Band"and"Comfy in Cashmere"

PLOPPING DOWN IN FRONT OF A FILM

Netflix is my BFF on my pampering evenings. If you know anything about me, you'll know that there's not much I love more than cuddling beneath a thick blanket with my favourite film on the tv. So, obviously, this is a huge component of what I consider to be a chill night in. Some of my favourite films to watch on these kinda nights are Notting Hill, My Best Friend's Wedding, Bridget Jones's Diary, and Mamma Mia.

LUSH "SLEEPY" LOTION

The very last step of my pampering evening, when it's time to head to bed, is to apply the Lush Sleepy Lotion, my new favourite body lotion. I talked about this lotion in my Bedside Essentials post a little bit. Safe to say, it's one of my holy grail products. After a night of spoiling myself, I'm ready for a great night's sleep - and this lotion definitely helps with that. Once I'm all lathered up, I wrap myself up in my big comforter and drift off to sleep.. zzzzz....

What do you do on a pamper night-in?

September Favourites

september-favourites-blog.jpg

I know it is so typical of me to say this, but I can't believe it's September. Where did the month go?! The days completely slipped past me and before I realized it, the month was gone. Just like that. It's been such a busy month, what with returning to school and jumping back into a daily schedule after four months of living my days spontaneously. Because I've put myself on a tragically tight budget so I can save up money for a Disney trip in the new year, I have been very frugal in the spending department. However, there are a few items I've recently purchased, plus some older goodies which I have been just loving this past month.

For some reason, the past month has been the worst in terms of my skin health. My face has completely broken out in blemishes and it's been bringing me down. Fortunately, the only thing keeping me sane has been the Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer. It is probably one of my favourite moisturizers, ever. It contains salicylic acid, the ingredient which is used to clear acne, plus it is hypoallergenic so my sensitive skin doesn't react poorly to it at all. I use this every morning in my skincare routine and it has been making my skin feel much better than it did at the beginning of the month.

The other skincare product I have been loving lately is one that I've owned for a while, but have recently fallen back in love with. Way back in the far away land of 2013, I was fifteen years old and brand new to the online beauty community. Soap and Glory was a line that was super popular amongst beauty bloggers at the time and so, being the follower that I was, I ran to the drugstore to pick up the famed Righteous Butter body butter. I was not disappointed, and I used it religiously. Over the years, I forgot about the brand and it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I glanced at the tub in my bathroom counter and decided to try it again. I've been using it now every day, especially after I shower, and my skin has literally never been so soft! It has such a lovely scent to it, as well, and I love that I can smell it on me throughout the day.

As for makeup products, I purchased the e.l.f. Lock on Liner and Brow Cream in a spur of a moment decision while at my local drugstore (which I have created an unhealthy obsession with - damn you Rexall and your great beauty department!). I am always on the hunt for new brow products and this cream seemed interesting so I decided to give it ago. I have not used it as a liner, but as for a brow cream, I have been impressed so far. I use an e.l.f. duo eyebrow brush, with a brush and spoolie combo, to apply this and I have been loving the results. Even my boyfriend said the other day that my eyebrows have been looking great recently, so that's a real testimony! Haha

Last month, for my birthday, my parents gifted me the Too Faced Natural Love Palette, which was so kind of them. I absolutely love it. Typically, I tend to lean on the more neutral side of eyeshadow shades and so this palette is perfect for me. It has a few lighter matte shades and a ton of gorgeous shimmery shades. I find myself reaching for this palette every day during my makeup routine. My favourite shades of the palette are Makeup & Chill, Hot & Bothered, Satin Sheets, and Honeymoon.

With the changing seasons, of course I had to make my seasonal stop at Bath and Body Works to pick up a few new candles and soaps for autumn. Of the several I picked up, my favourite was the Hello Sugar Warm Apple Pie candle. I absolutely love this candle. It genuinely smells like a freshly baked pie which is probably one of the greatest scents in the whole world. I've lit this candle already a dozen times, and I'm sure I'll be getting a ton of use out of it this season.

Aside from makeup and beauty, I have been totally into music this month. I'm not sure but I think it has to do with the fact that I've been commuting to and from school every day, which is a 40-minute drive each way in traffic. Music has been keeping me sane haha. My two favourite artists to listen to lately have been John Mayer and Sam Phillips. Both of them have such soothing music which is great to listen to while driving and while doing homework or studying. Like, let's be real, John Mayer has the voice of an angel. How can you be stressed while listening to him sing? Currently, my favourite songs by them are "If I Could Write" by Sam Phillips, and "In The Blood" by John Mayer.

Also this month, I have been completely and utterly obsessed with the tv show, This Is Us. Yes, I know. I'm so late to the party. But basically, I am in love with it. My mum, my boyfriend, and I all watched the first season on Netflix within like a week. And now we've bought the iTunes season pass for season two, which is currently playing on tv every week. The Pearson family is so complicated and loveable and Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson is stealing my heart more and more with every passing episode. I can't wait for the next episode to come out! Ugh plus, the soundtrack is just beautiful.

And there you have it! Those are the very mismatched, unrelated things that I have loved this past month. I can't wait to see what October has in store, as I have a ton of cool things coming up that I'm so anxious to share with all of you! I'm so excited for October, and I hope that everyone has had a fabulous September.

What have you guys been loving this month?

Lipstick Craze: Autumn

img_1752.jpg

Lately, with the summer basically gone even though there is still a few more hours of the season, I have really gotten into the Autumn Mood. For me, autumn is the best season because of four reasons: 1) campfires, 2) chunky sweaters, 3) CANDLES, and 4) lipsticks. I feel like lipsticks become a huge part of my makeup look in the fall, because during the summer I tend to either stick with a classic red lip or I go for a nude/light pink. But this is the time where the weather gets cooler and everything becomes colourful with all the leaves falling, I like to think dark lipsticks really emulate that transition. So, without further ado, let me share with you all my top 5 autumn lipsticks

IMG_1754

IMG_1757

#1: Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick in 79 "Love That Red"

This has to be my all-time favourite colour. It's a beautiful, deep red creme lipstick that is easy to apply and lasts for a decent amount of time, probably 5 hours even through a meal. I usually wear it if I'm going out for a night out and I don't have much of an opportunity to reapply. Unfortunately, this was my mum's that I stole awhile ago and I've discovered it no longer exists. However, Revlon has a new Moon Drops collection with a colour, 710 Orange Flip, which is a similar colour when applied, the only difference being an orange tint.

IMG_1758

#2: Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella

I received this as part of my Beauty Insider birthday gift at Sephora last month, and I have fallen in love with it. The cashier spoke highly of this pencil, stating it was one of Nars' best products, and I couldn't agree more. It's gorgeous and lasts forever once it's dried. Of course, as I usually do, I did the "kiss test" on my boyfriend's cheek and it didn't come off, so I was very impressed.

IMG_1759

#3: Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 30

I first was introduced to Kate Moss's line of lipsticks from blogger Zoella, when she began to rave about 107 - which is also a staple of mine. After trying a few of the other lipsticks, I fell in love with this beauty right here. It's a deep plum, which I feel really suits my autumn-based wardrobe. I think it's really a go-to lipstick for any look and it's very long-lasting.

IMG_1760

#4: Nars Semi Matte Lipstick in Scarlett Empress

This one I've heard raved about again and again. I saw countless posts about this all over social media back in the spring months, and I purchased it for my end-of-year dance recital as I needed a deep, rich colour to go with my Spanish-style dance and costume. Now that that dance is in the past, I've been using it as a day-to-day lipstick and I love it. The longevity is amazing

IMG_1761

#5: L'oreal Colour Riche in 590 Blushing Berry

Last, but certainly not least, is my most recent lip purchase. This one, as the name suggests, is a berry tone which is essential to this season. I'm quite fond of this colour, the only thing I will say is that it doesn't last as long as the others as it's a cream lipstick. This would be one you'd have to reapply so do keep that in mind if you decide to pick it up
